Adult Masters Rowing Program at Burnaby Lake

Burnaby Lake Rowing Club provides an opportunity to row regardless of your experience.  Whether you are new to the sport or want to jump back in a boat.  All practice sessions are under the guidance of our expert coaches.  During scheduled sessions members can participate in group workouts or simply go for a leisurely row at their own pace. We have a range of equipment that members have access to from racing singles, doubles, quads pairs and 8's.  Annual Memberships are offered from April 1 - March 31.  For new members  who join after April 1 the fees are pro-rated. During the summer months we have a 6 month membership that goes from May until October.

Evening Summer Sessions June - October

Our club is primarily sculling based, but we do have members who sweep row. Because sculling is very different from rowing in a traditional row boat or large sweep boat, we require all potential members to schedule an evaluation session with one of our coaches before they are invited to join. During this session you must be able to demonstrate solid proficiency in a single sculling shell and be able to navigate safely on the water.  Once the evaluation has been completed you will be invited to join a program according to your demonstrated skill level.  If you have not spent time in a sculling shell, don't worry, lessons can be provided either privately or in our Learn to Row Sessions.
